HEY, I'M Laurelle
FOUNDER OF UNAPOLOGETIC RECOVERY
NUTRITION & WELLNESS Alcohol RECOVERY COACH | MENTOR
Recovery coaching is deeply personal and meaningful to me - because I’ve walked the same path you’re on.
My mission is to empower women in early recovery to embrace their journey with resilience and self-compassion.
I understand the challenges of early recovery firsthand, and I’m here to support you wholeheartedly through this transformative chapter.
I use a personalised, whole-person approach that brings together:
- Nourishing nutrition to support energy, mood, and cravings
- Wellness practices to rebuild strength and stability
- Emotional support to help you regulate, reflect, and reconnect
- Coaching that guides you back to the confident, grounded woman you truly are
My goal is to help you feel steady, strong, and empowered — so you can build a life that feels aligned, fulfilling, and unapologetically yours.
I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s begin your UNAPOLOGETIC recovery - together.
My first year of recovery was the best &
the hardest year of my life.
It was the year I came home to myself…
I won’t go into all the reasons why or how I became dependent on alcohol — mentally, emotionally, and physically. But I will say this:
I was waking up through the night to top up so I wouldn’t go into withdrawal.
I struggled to leave the house because of severe anxiety (caused by drinking) and chose alcohol over absolutely everything in my life — including my kids. Over the years, without support for PTSD, alcohol became my therapist, my best friend, and my support system.
At first, it felt like it was making everything better — until it slowly started destroying my life bit by bit and nearly ended up killing me.
But I couldn’t imagine a life without alcohol. I had never felt so alone, trapped in a maze of self-destructive behaviour with no idea where the exit was.
In May 2021, after a drinking and driving conviction, multiple visits to treatment centres, and countless doctor appointments, I was told I had ascites, alcohol-related cirrhosis, and neuropathy.
Even that wasn’t enough to make me stop.
I was in complete denial — my doctor repeatedly told me, “You’re going to die.” But all I could think about was my next drink.
Then on August 18th, 2021, I had a moment of clarity that changed everything.
I realised I wasn’t invincible. If I kept drinking, I was going to die.
In that moment, I made a promise to myself — to never touch alcohol again and to do whatever it took to get better, to live a full life, and to be there for my kids as they grow up.
I’ve kept that promise. And I haven’t looked back since.
I WAS A SHELL OF A PERSON
PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY & EMOTIONALLY.
I went from feeling completely lost — no idea who I was - filled with guilt and shame, to rediscovering my true self, finding my voice, and beginning a journey of profound personal growth and healing.
From nearly dying with diagnoses of cirrhosis and ascites, weighing just 42kg and barely able to walk, to rebuilding myself physically and running my first half marathon within my first year of recovery — the transformation was powerful.
I completed a 3-month treatment program and went on to study addiction therapy and nutrition, gaining deeper insight into my healing journey both mentally and physically. With each step, I laid a solid foundation for sustainable recovery.
Setting small, achievable goals and celebrating milestones along the way kept me grounded and motivated. And with each passing day, I grew stronger — making my recovery even more remarkable.
I’m often asked how I did it, and my answer is simple:
Consistency. Personal growth. Willingness to change.
It took:
- Stepping out of my comfort zone
- Being honest with myself
- Embracing self-forgiveness and self-acceptance
-
Healing my body through focused nutrition and nourishment
- And putting recovery above everything else
Most importantly, I learned that sustainable recovery isn’t quick or easy. But when you put in the work and get honest with yourself — that’s when the magic happens.
And I can say this, wholeheartedly and firsthand — WE DO RECOVER.

MY WHY
In early recovery, I felt lost and overwhelmed — craving personalised support that went deeper than willpower alone. By the time I entered treatment, I was already 3 months sober, but I still lacked the tools to truly thrive. I wanted guidance that addressed my body, mind, and emotions.
That search led me to create my own wellness plan: combining nutrition, movement, and mindset work — and setting bold goals like skydiving and running a half marathon in my first year alcohol-free.
As I grew stronger, I saw others still struggling. Volunteering in addiction services and exploring traditional routes like AA revealed a clear gap: not enough person-centred, holistic support.
So, I became a certified Recovery Coach and Wellness Practitioner — then deepened my expertise through the Academy of Addiction & Mental Health Nutrition.
Learning how nutrition and amino acid therapy could transform mood, reduce cravings, and support long-term healing changed everything — not just for me, but for the women I now work with every day.
That’s why I founded UNAPOLOGETIC RECOVERY Nutrition & Wellness — to offer women in early recovery a compassionate, evidence-based path forward, with real tools and real support.
MY MISSION
To support women in early recovery with the compassionate, personalised guidance I once needed — so they never have to face the confusion, isolation, or overwhelm alone.
I believe every woman deserves a non-judgemental space, a clear path forward, and someone who sees her potential — even when she can’t yet see it herself.
Recovery is just the beginning. My mission is to walk beside you as you reclaim your energy, rebuild your confidence, and rise — unapologetically.
MY MESSAGE OF HOPE TO YOU
Believing in yourself is the first step toward true transformation.
You are not defined by your past - not by your struggles, your mistakes, or the darkest moments you’ve walked through.
You hold the power to shape your future and create a life rooted in purpose, alignment, and fulfilment.
Change is possible.
It begins with the decision to believe in your ability to grow, to rise, and to begin again.
With self-belief, courage, and consistency, you can rewrite your story — not from shame, but from strength.
You can step into the most empowered version of yourself and build a life that reflects who you truly are.
And if you’ve been waiting for a sign… this is it.
It is never too late to begin again.
Take the next step — and watch your journey unfold in ways you never imagined.
